Trace app updates: smart DPIA and more

Smart compliance documents on demand

Helping our clients comply with regulations like the GDPR easily, securely and collaboratively - is core to our ethos here at Trace. We help our users find automation and consistency to create a guided culture of Privacy by Design, rather than irregular compliance by disconnected spreadsheet.

Our Summer product updates focus on deepening the capability offered in our Document Manager area by making Trace even more collaborative and feature rich.

About our Document Manager area: secure, collaborative, intuitive

Trace’s smart Document Manager acts a secure repository for all of a user’s compliant documents:

  • Data Processing Agreements (DPAs): you can customise our template, save your own and e-sign your document securely with you data processors, to address legal gaps

  • Legitimate Interests’ Assessment (LIA) - customise and answer Purpose, Necessity and Balancing criteria; securely log your results for an easy to locate audit trial as part of compliance when you select Legitimate Interests' for processing

  • When you need to assure your supply chain, our processor assessor helps. Use our template, add custom questions and securely share the assessment through our streamlined workflow

  • Article 35(1) of the GDPR sets out that you must do a DPIA where a type of processing is likely to result in a high risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals; Trace’s smart DPIA automates that flow and helps you capture your DPIAs and log risks

  • Upload your own documents: use Trace as your one stop shop for all of your compliance policies and artefacts, simply upload your document and enable collaboration.

So what’s new?

We have added new features to our smart DPIA with the addition of granular risk logging; and enabled greater customisation of our LIA.

Security and usability are at the heart of our approach to developing and deepening our platform, so we have made it easier for our users to control their settings with 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) now under a users’ and organisation’s control as part of Trace account settings.
